I have a site that I had put under-maintenance and as a result the WordFence plugin didn’t get updated to 1.5.6 and – yep – here it comes – I got locked out! Naturally, as WF was pre-1.5.6, there was no option to ask for an unlock email.

So I went into ftp and manually transferred WF 1.5.6 files over to the website and Eureka the option to request an unlock email came up, email arrived seconds later and I was able to effect the unlock and login, So far so good.

However, I now see that WF ‘is almost ready and needs configuring. Over to WF website forum to get copy of API key and paste it in. WP doesn’t accept API. SO I returned to API key page on WF site, deleted old key and requested new one and tried pasting that into my website. No luck – my website still detects the need to be configured.

Any ideas…..?

Regards

Will

Will I’m a little startled by how often you’re locked out. I’ve emailed you privately to try and figure out why that happens. Lets solve that issue first before looking at anything else.

Thanks,

Mark.
