8.8
Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')
CVE CVE-2023-26325
CVSS 8.8 (High)
Publicly Published April 19, 2023
Last Updated January 22, 2024
Researcher Joshua Martinelle

Description

The ReviewX – Multi-criteria Rating & Reviews for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection via the 'filterValue' and 'selectedColumns' parameters passed through the 'rx_export_review' AJAX action in versions up to, and including, 1.6.8 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with subscriber-level permissions and above to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
